Pharaohs Quest

7327 Scorpion Pyramid is a January of 2011-released Pharaoh's Quest set, which was already available in stores in December of 2010. It includes a giant scorpion and seven Minifigures; these consist of three explorers, the Pharaoh Amset-Ra, a Flying Mummy, and two Anubis Guards. A prominent feature is the raised baseplate on which the pyramid is located, and a half-track with a machine gun. Also included is a Giant Scorpion placed above the entrance to the pyramid.
The explorer's vehicle is a two wheeled vehicle; instead of rear wheels, it features a pair of tank treads. The front of the vehicle has an engine grille piece, with some lights and wheels. The vehicle uses an older part from the Adventurers theme for seats. The windscreen is small (placed below a minifigure's line of sight when said minifigure is sitting down).

Lego "Ninjago"-best present

Ninjago is a theme introduced in January 2011. It contains a unique battle game element called "Spinjitzu."

Long ago, the first master of Spinjitzu created the world of Ninjago. The master formed the world using the four mystical weapons of Ninjago: the Nunchucks of Lightning, the Shurikens of Ice, the Scythe of Quakes, and the Sword of Fire. The master then entrusted the world he had made and the four mystical weapons with his two sons, Sensei Wu and Lord Garmadon. His sons promised to protect the secrets of the weapons. However, Lord Garmadon was consumed by darkness and greed and wanted to take the power of the weapons for himself. After a great battle with his brother, he was banished to the Underworld.
In defeat, his evil only grew stronger. He became the ruler of the Underworld, and forged alliances with the skeletal Skullkin tribe that lived there. He plans to try once again to take the four weapons of Spinjitzu. In preparation, Sensei Wu has gathered four young ninjas, Kai, Jay, Cole, and Zane, to learn the ways of Spinjitzu. Only they can stop Lord Garmadon.

Spinjitzu

The fighting style practised by the characters of NinjaGo is called Spinjitzu. This word was probably made because of Jujutsu and Ninjutsu, two types of fighting styles used by actual ninjas. The fighters spin around and draw on their elemental strengths to become tornadoes of energy and steel. Several sets in the game include special spinner parts, customized for different characters. Players select their characters, the weapons the character will hold, and a small deck of ability cards to influence the duel. The characters are placed into the spinners and spun at each other like tops, with the goal being to knock the opponent's minifigure down.
List of Ninjago cards

The Four Golden Weapons

The Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu are the secrets of victory over Lord Garmadon and his army of skeletons. There are four of them. The ninjas and skeletons are always on the search for these weapons.
  • The Scythe of Quakes is a weapon that is new to LEGO. It has a golden staff, tooth and a new piece that is like a lightsaber hilt but one side has a connector facing horizontally.
  • The Shurikens of Ice are also new and are really two weapons, but are used together. They are sometimes used with a staff.
  • The Sword of Fire is a golden katana. A newer version of it will be released in the summer in several sets.
  • The Nunchucks of Lightning is made of a new short chain and two of the new hilt-like pieces used to make the Scythe of Quakes.

Notes

  • "Ninjago" is pronounced "Nin-JA-go".
  • Unlike the larger sets in the line, the minifigures and weapons in the Spinner sets are made from a cheaper Chinese plastic, rather than the usual ABS.
  • An entire area is dedicated to Ninjago on Crux Prime in LEGO Universe. It includes a Maelstrom Mine with skeletons called Skullkins (and occasionally, Nuckal) and the ruins of the Ninjago Dojo, which in the game are explained to have been transported there after a brutal attack, supposedly after the main story of Ninjago.
  • The list of notable guests to Garmadon's Dark Fortress includes Bob the Ummm Barbarian.

What are CitiBlocs?! CitiBlocs - he is the excellent wooden construction! =)

Citiblocs are high quality wooden construction blocks which inspire both traditional building and moderndesign. The secret behind Citiblocs is that every piece is exactly the same shape and size. Each block is precisely cut from Grade A Radiata Pine from certified renewable forests in New Zealand. Citiblocs Building requires no glue, no snaps, no connectors and no magnets: just gravity, balance and imagination.
Building with Citiblocs is simple: stack one block on top of another. Their specific size and shape and weight allows building that is simply not possible with other building toys. Build a small cabin by the lake or a tower that reaches the stars!
Citiblocs are recommended for ages 3+. Citiblocs are certified safe and non-toxic and have been tested and approved according to all Consumer Product Safely Improvement Act (CPSIA) regulations.
The founder of CitiBlocs, Marjorie Israel Chayette, knew what child experts and educators have advocated for years: Open-ended, free play is key to unlocking a child's boundless creativity. Building blocks facilitate fundamental hand/eye coordination and tune fine motor skills for preschoolers, while fostering innovation, focus and self-esteem in older children.

Citiblocs for Schools

citiblocs_school1.jpgCitiblocs are suitable for young children (ages 3+) who can easily pick up and stack these light weigh blocks – stimulating fine (small) motor skills to pick up, and gross (large) motor skills to move about.
Older children will build with more developed motor skills and their  block play will  become more detailed and require precise movements with plenty of control.
Citiblocs are great for boys and girls and for a broad age range – there’s always a beginning and a challenge with these unique blocks.

Citiblocs is about creativity and like all block play, it’s also about maths and sciences –from size and shape to weight and leverage and balance. As the complexity increases, so does the concentration level.   Gravity and  balance require problem solving.  Making plans and making those plans concrete are all a part of Citiblocs play and success.

Education through observation

With Citiblocs – you can plan a house or a street or a city – by yourself or with multiple builders who can be working on the same project.   The builders can work together fostering cooperative play and promoting discussion and observation, decision making and conflict resolution and other forms of social interaction.   It’s easy to talk construction – to observe, describe and compare. It’s all hands on experience, enhancing awareness of texture and sound and touch and enabling kids to speak a common construction language for engaging on a real building adventure.   Kids will explore with the finest building blocks EVER !

A hands-on approach to creativity

Creating a vision , creating the solution, and executing the plan.  Enjoy the pride and satisfaction of success and a job well done -- these are the attributes of CITIBLOCS.  CITIBLOCS celebrate and respect the individuality and talents of each and every builder.  CITIBLOCS are ideal for a diversified classroom, ideal for learning centers,  ideal for differentiated age groups, for camps, day care and children’s play groups of all kinds.  Ideal for kids with learning differences.  Every building is a sign of success.
With CITIBLOCS – kids learn while they build – sequencing and science – numeracy and hand to eye movement – problem solving and teamwork  - concentration and creation.   There are limitless possibilities to discover and design – limitless opportunities to begin anew without worrying about a missing piece or complicated instructions.    Watch the blocks come tumbling down and no big mess to clear up until the next occasion to build.  Powerful learning value – it’s multidisciplinary – it’s learning all the time.
CITIBLOCS also offers a 1000 pc set of natural blocks. This set is GREAT for educational purposes and groups of children in kindergarten classes, pre-schools or day-care and primary school.  1000 pieces allows a whole classroom of children – and even several classrooms -  to build a city or landscape.  Kids can build together, all working on their own “neighborhood.”

Vinyl toys -

Report of the International Toy Fair 2011

  • Fair finishes with 79.000 visitors (2010: 76.637)
  • Increasing internationalization
  • Successful launching of Toys go green

The Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nürnberg 2011 signals that the toy industry is still on the up. After a strong year of business, the industry was full of optimism and ready for innovations and ideas. With its knowledge, innovation and network programme, the leading fair from 3-8 February 2011 generated many ideas and was rated exceptionally favourably. A total of 79,000 visitors came to Nuremberg (2010: 76,637).
The share of international visitors rose to 54 per cent (2010: 53 per cent). Most of the visitors from abroad came from Italy, France, the Netherlands, Spain and Great Britain, followed by Russia, which made it to the top ten visiting countries for the first time. The large international share of exhibitors (69 per cent) also proves that the International Toy Fair is the dominant marketplace for the industry. This is also emphasized by Nico Blauw, Managing Director of Upper Deck International B.V.: “The international share of visitors in Nuremberg is very large. In contrast to fairs such as New York, where the visitors are mainly from the USA and Canada, at the International Toy Fair we meet our customers from all over the world.” Mark Hoijtink, General Manager Northern Europe Hasbro, agrees: “Hasbro appears in Nuremberg with a team of more than 200 sales and marketing directors and sales managers. As we are expanding in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the importance of the International Toy Fair for us grows with increasing internationalization.”

Companies that focus on Nuremberg invested heavily in their stand concept. Likewise Lego GmbH: “The great importance of the International Toy Fair has increased again and worldwide,” stresses Managing Director Dirk Engehausen. The exhibitors’ presentations and the new Mitte (central) entrance of the Nuremberg exhibition centre created a completely fresh new look for the International Toy Fair.
The Toys go green special also brought fresh colour into the discussions. Both exhibitors and traders received many ideas on how to implement the value creation chain in a more sustainable way. Over half the visitors rated the presentation of the theme islands as good or very good. Ernst Kick, Chief Executive Officer of Spielwarenmesse eG, made it clear that Toys go green is only the first step of a process that the fair organizers will continue over the coming years.
Besides Toys go green, the extensive range of ToyKnowHow included the Toy Business Forum and the 2nd Global Toy Conference. The visitors at the Toy Business Forum were particularly interested in the presentations on trends and the market. The conference, which took place on 8.2.2011, covered sustainability, toy safety, social networks and online marketing and attracted some 200 participants (2010: 110).
One striking aspect during the International Toy Fair was that buyers and traders increasingly looked for new products in 2011. This was shown by both the visitor survey and the heavily frequented InnovationCenter, where many visitors obtained an overview of the latest products in the presentation area. Here they also voted for the main winner of the ToyAward from the winners of the five categories: Yookidoo’s Stack `N` Spray Fountain in the category Baby&Infant (0-2 years) won the most votes and the prize of 20,000 euros for its fountain for small children. The colourful trays can be combined in various ways to change the fountains. The visitors rated the range of products in the newly integrated product group Baby and Infant Articles as exceptionally good.
Overall, both the exhibitors and visitors confirmed the development of the International Toy Fair as thoroughly positive. Peter Broegger, Managing Director of Mattel GmbH, summed up his impressions of the toy fair: “With its continuing success and the ability to renew itself, the Nuremberg toy fair is once again the most important toy fair for Mattel.”

The International Toy Fair is already well equipped for 2012, as 87 per cent of the visitors and 92 per cent of the exhibitors confirmed their intention to take part again. Next year’s Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nürnberg takes place from Wednesday to Monday, 1-6.2.2012. By starting the fair a day earlier, the organizer intentionally offers international visitors more consecutive workdays.
